The 2022 World Games announced Monday that the University of Alabama at Birmingham will host several competitions.
BBVA Field, home of UAB men’s and women’s soccer, will host lacrosse. Tug of war will be played in the athletics facilities of the UAB. Racquetball and squash competitions will be played at the UAB Recreation Center.

The 2022 World Games, an international multisport event organized with the support of the International Olympic Committee, will be held in Birmingham from July 7 to 17, 2022.
About 3,600 athletes are expected to participate in more than 30 sports.
The UAB will serve as the sponsor of the 2022 World Games Legacy Memorial Foundation and the main sponsor of the UAB Athlete Village, which will provide accommodation in UAB residences for athletes, coaches and athletes. officials. UAB Medicine will be the main sponsor of athletic and spectator medical services at the 2022 World Games.
UAB will also provide language services to international athletes and visitors.
